Electrolytic Capacitor Replacement

Over time, electrolytic capacitors lose their ability to perform as intended, which can negatively affect your console’s performance. The electrolyte, paper, and aluminum foil inside the capacitor degrade both physically and chemically. Aging capacitors can cause a wide range of issues, and in extreme cases they leak corrosive electrolytic fluid onto the PCB, damaging traces, chips, and other components. This service removes the old, failing capacitors and gives your console a new lease on life with high-quality replacements.

New high quality capacitors are included with this option!

128MB RAM Upgrade

Upgrade your Xbox RAM to 128MB! "Do I need this!?" To be honest, probably not, but it can improve the performance of dashboards, homebrew applications and will allow you to play the elusive Sega Chihiro titles.

4x RAM Modules are included with this option!

Power LED Board Replacement (OXFP9000)

This replaces the original Xbox power/eject board with a custom user programmable replacement! This means you can set any basic color instead of the standard Green/Orange/Red. You can have Purple/Orange/White if you so choose. This would normally not be possible with standard bi-color LEDs. The OXFP9000 will come preprogrammed with your choice of colors.

OXFP9000 is included with this option!

Thermal Compound Replacement

Thermal compound or thermal paste is an intermediary that improves heat transfer between two surfaces (in this case, the heatsink and chip). Thermal compounds can break down over time due to aging and heat cycling, which can reduce their ability to transfer heat effectively. This service replaces the old and worn out thermal compound under the CPU and GPU heatsinks with new high conductivity PC quality thermal paste.

Controller Port LEDs

This option adds your choice of LED color to the Xbox controller ports! This is not just some 3mm LEDs and a through-hole resistor shoved into the port cavity.. No no no.. Our service utilizes custom fabricated PCBs with proper SMD components that fit perfectly behind the port directing the LEDs to shine exactly where they should. This service includes

Full-Service Cleaning

Full-service cleaning uses multiple specialized cleaning methods to bring your console back to tip-top shape. This isn’t a generic, one-size-fits-all cleaning service. Each component of your console is cleaned using the method best suited to that particular part. Fragile components that could be damaged by strong vibrations are gently hand-washed, while others are thoroughly cleaned using ultrasonic technology. Mechanical parts such as lasers and motors, which should not be submerged, are carefully detailed by hand. After cleaning, fans, gears, and sliding mechanisms are properly lubricated to ensure smooth, quiet, and optimal performance. Every single piece receives the individual care it deserves.

Additional Information

Once your order is received, you will be sent shipping information to send your console in for the work to be completed.

Initial shipping is the customers responsibility. Please ship your console and kit with ample packing material. Shipping paid at checkout is how your console will be shipped back to you after the work has been completed.

Please only send the console and kit to be installed. Power cables, controllers, AV cables or any other accessories that are not needed will only raise the shipping costs both ways.

If a console arrives not working, you will be contacted and notified. Most things can be fixed and arrangements can be made, but in the case of a console that is inoperable, the console will be returned, and you will be refunded minus return shipping costs.

Turnaround time is usually within 2-3 weeks, but can be longer depending on current workload or if parts need to be ordered.

Q: I soldered a header but it's not working and I'd like to send it in to you guys to have you do it. It's very difficult if not impossible for me to get the header off. Would you guys be ok with me sending it in with the header still "installed" and the Stellar chip in the Xbox but obviously not working because I probably installed it totally wrong?

Q: I have an original, original Xbox v1.0. It has been probably 12 years since it was turned on, last time turned on it would run for about 20 minutes and lockup, power button also did not function. I am looking to get this completely restored. The components, case and all associated stuff is in great condition. The other question I have is that originally (and still) my father installed a mod chip to it, for some reason Xcalibur comes to mind as the chip. It still functioned last time it was started however I would like to add the Project Stellar HDMI stuff to the unit. What all is involved to make that work? As well, there is probably at least 100 games and emulators on the HDD in the unit, would it affect any of that? Looking to potentially get this all working again! Just a few questions.

Q: I had Stellar and hd plus installed over a year ago not by your company however I cannot find the person that did it. That is not issue it worked perfectly until an update from stellar came through now my system tries to boot 3 times then flashes red and green. Can your company fix this issue? System was great until this update. Thank you.
