This is a send-in installation service for the Neo Geo CD SD Loader. Neo Geo CD SD Loader is NOT included with this service and must be provided by the customer.

Installation Service Includes -

Installation Neo Geo CD SD Loader

Installation of SD Loader PCB and associated wiring
Pin lifted on IC "TOP-SP1"
CD audio wired (if selected)
SD Loader updated to latest firmware
Console tested to ensure proper functionality.

Console Cleaning

Exterior wipedown
Internal cleaning, removing any loose dust/dirt

This does not include removal of tough stains or caked on substances (ultrasonic cleaning is available for deep cleaning).

Additional Services Offered-

Electrolytic Capacitor Replacement

Over time, electrolytic capacitors lose their ability to perform as intended. This can have varying effects on performance (none good). The electrolyte, paper and aluminum foil in the capacitor degrade physically and chemically over time. Aging capacitors can cause a wide range of issues and in extreme cases can leak electrolytic fluid onto the PCB (again, not good).

Motherboard and Power/AV Recap

This option replaces all electrolytic capacitors on both the motherboard and power / AV board of the Neo Geo CD.

Power LED Replacement

This service replaces the original Neo Geo CD power LED with 1:1 replacement in your choice of color. The Neo Geo CD also has the ability to use an external RGB status LED that can be used instead of a single color.

Ultrasonic Cleaning

With this service, your console will be disassembled and ultrasonic cleaned. Ultrasonic cleaning removes even the most stubborn dust and dirt that a hand cleaning just cant reach. Service includes -

Ultrasonic cleaning of console shielding

Additional Information -

Once your order is received, you will be sent shipping information to send your console in for the work to be completed.

Initial shipping is the customers responsibility. Please ship your console and kit with ample packing material. Shipping paid at checkout is how your console will be shipped back to you after the work has been completed.

Please only send the console and kit to be installed. Power cables, controllers, AV cables or any other accessories that are not needed will only raise the shipping costs both ways.

If a console arrives not working, you will be contacted and notified. Most things can be fixed and arrangements can be made, but in the case of a console that is inoperable, the console will be returned, and you will be refunded minus return shipping costs.

Turnaround time is usually within 2-3 weeks, but can be longer depending on current workload or if parts need to be ordered.

Q: Hello, Some backstory, and then a question regarding your Neo Geo CD SD Loader install service. I installed a Neo Geo CD SD loader into a Neo Geo CD a while back. I was a able to purchase one back when Furrtek sold them directly. In the beginning I was able to get it to work, then after a period of time and only after a few uses, it just stopped loading the SD loader. I can still get the Neo Geo CD to boot into the music player menu, but the SD loader no longer boots. I attempted the firmware update and I would get the 3 yellow LED blink sequence, and a ROMDUMP.BIN file copied to the SD card. According to Furrtek's website, the 3 yellow lights mean "console's BIOS version was not recognized." I had reached out to Furrtek and he said "this sounds like there are contact issues between the loader and the console's 68000 chip." I had since tried to reinstall and firmly rest the loader over the chip, but I continued to get the same error. This ultimately left me giving up and put it up on a shelf. I happened across a YouTube video(Macho Nacho Productions) where they did an install but also had contact issues with their board where the socket on the SD Loader was the issue, which now has me wondering if that was my issue. Sounds like Phenom now uses an updated socket on the board. I've since came across your install repair service and was curious if my scenarios sounds like something that you think is fixable. Q: Hi, does the SD Card Extension in the back still support keeping the Optical drive working? Also, if I keep the optical drive working, can I use regular size SD cards with this extension? And will this rear extension require a hole in the rear of the console? I see the photo it is covering the serial number sticker. Will the sticker be damaged in the process?
