WHAT IS THIS?:

This is a send-in installation service for the the Sega Dreamcast DCHDMI / DCDigital Kit.

HOW DOES THIS WORK?:

Start by purchasing the services you would like us to perform on your system.

We will then provide you with our shipping information to send your console and mod kit to us here at Retro Digital LLC for the services to be performed.

Once received your system will be tested and then thoroughly cleaned removing any dust and debris that may have collected in the system over the years.

We will then install the requested modifications and extensively test everything to ensure proper functionality.

Your system will then be sent back out to you via USPS Priority Mail 1-3 Day.

Turnaround time can vary depending on current workload and will be posted on the homepage.

ADDITIONAL SERVCIES OFFERED:

Capacitor Replacement: Over time electrolytic capacitors can start to loose their capacitance and in some cases may even leak on to the PCB causing permanent corrosive damage. Replacing electrolytic capacitors in an older game system is a great way to keep it in service for many more years to come! High quality capacitor kit is included with this service!

Noctua Fan Mod: Noctua is known for making quality parts and the Noctua NF-A4x10 is no exception! Fan technology has advanced so much, that this mod, which uses a high performance 5v original Noctua fan, is almost completely silent, and offers the same (if not better) airflow for your beloved Dreamcast! This service includes Noctua NF-A4x10 fan, adapter cable, custom open/close latch and 3D printed fan mount in your choice of color or can be color matched to LED selection!

Removable Battery Socket: The original Dreamcast battery is soldered directly to the controller board and when it dies its can be a pain to change (requires de-soldering!). This mod upgrades the battery with a socket that allows you to insert and remove batteries as needed without the need to solder anything! ML2032 battery and socket are provided with this service!
GDEMU 3.3v Conversion: The GD-ROM drive on VA0 Dreamcast consoles run at 5v, and GDEMU run off 3.3v. This service will effectively convert the voltage of the VA0 GD-ROM bus to 3.3v allowing you to safely use a GDEMU. GDEMU Conversion kit is included with this service!

Ultra-Sonic Cleaning & Polish: With this service your console will first be disassembled and ultrasonic cleaned. This removes all of the hidden dirt and dust that a hand cleaning just can't get to. Even a warm soapy bath is nothing compared to the cavitation produced by the thermistors of a medical grade ultrasonic cleaner! After the ultrasonic cleaning the housing will be polished off with an aerospace UV protectant. This restores the plastic's UV protection preventing fading, cracking and discoloration from harmful UV rays while at the same time repelling dirt, dust and stains keeping your system looking better, longer!

Self-Healing Controller Fuse: The original controller port fuse was notorious for blowing, forcing you to open the system to repair just to be able to use the controller ports again.. This faulty part will be replaced with a new self-healing fuse that resets when the system is unplugged. No more dead ports ever again! Self-healing controller port fuse is included with this service!

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

Initial shipping is your responsibility. Please ship your system with ample packing materials. Additional insurance is also highly recommended. Shipping paid at checkout is how your system will be shipped back to you after the work has been completed.

All systems are cleaned, thoroughly inspected and stress tested prior to shipping to make sure you are getting the best service possible!

If a system arrives not working (unless otherwise stated or previously understood as such) for whatever reason, you will be contacted and notified. Most things can be fixed and arrangements can be made, but in the case of a system that is sent in clearly inoperable condition, the system will be returned to you and you will be refunded minus return shipping costs.
