WHAT IS THIS?:

This is a send-in repair service for the the Sega Game Gear. With this service we will repair and recap your Sega Game Gear system using your choice of ceramic or electrolytic capacitors (Power board will always be high quality electrolytic capacitors). High quality capacitor kit is included with this service!

1 ASCII and 2 ASCII Systems Only for New LCD. Majesco systems are not supported at this time. These are a later release that are licensed but not produced by Sega (they have white labels on the back and all white lettering on the front glass.

If you want to provide your own lens, shell, or buttons that is fine. Just include them with your system and we will install them free of charge!

HOW DOES THIS WORK?:

We will then provide you with our shipping information to send your console and mod kit to us here at Retro Digital LLC for the services to be performed.

Once received your system will be tested and thoroughly cleaned removing any dust or debris that may have collected over the years.

We will then install the requested modifications and extensively test everything to ensure proper functionality.

Turnaround time on our send in service is usually 3-5 days (not including weekends). This may be extended if parts need to be ordered. All orders are processed in the order they are received. If you have any questions feel free to reach out any time.

New LCD Screen: The Sega GameGear LCD screen was a marvel when it was released in 1990. 30 years later they all are slowly heading the way of the dinosaurs. This system has had the old GameGear LCD replaced with a NEW TFT LCD Screen! The drive board is low power increasing battery life as well as adding multiple new features! Scanlines, multiple display modes and even SMS compatibility have been added making this like a band new system! Screen modes can be changed by holding A+B+Start for 3 seconds. New LCD Screen and driver board is included with this service!

ON THE HOUSE (FREE!):

3D Printed LCD Mount: Free 3D printed LCD mount with purchase of installation service! This is a 3D printed mount that centers the new LCD screen and secures it in place preventing any shifting or moving over time. All basic colors available.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

Initial shipping is your responsibility. Please ship your system with ample packing materials. Additional insurance is also highly recommended. Shipping paid at checkout is how your system will be shipped back to you after the work has been completed.

All systems are cleaned, thoroughly inspected and stress tested prior to shipping to make sure you are getting the best service possible!

If a system arrives not working as intended (unless otherwise stated) for whatever reason, you will be contacted and notified. Most things can be fixed and arrangements can be made, but in the case of a system that is sent in inoperable condition the system will be returned and you will be refunded minus return shipping costs.
