PS1PSU w/ Multi-Region Power Supply
The original PlayStation 1 power supply generates a lot of heat (even when recapped), which over time, can have negative effects on nearby components. The PS1PSU produces very little heat, prolonging the life of the console. The PS1PSU power supply replacement is designed to minimize heat generation within your PS1 Fat console. By utilizing an external 12V/3A power supply, it helps to prevent overheating that can lead to hardware failures. Includes Multi-Region Power Adapter with British standard plug, European standard plug, US standard plug and Australian standard plug.
After many years of use, electrolytic capacitors can start to lose their capacitance and thus their ability to perform as intended. This can have varying effects on performance (none good). The electrolyte, paper and aluminum foil in the capacitor degrade physically and chemically over time. Aging capacitors can cause a wide range of issues and in extreme cases can leak electrolytic fluid onto the PCB (again, not good). All electrolytic capacitors on the motherboard of this console have been replaced with high quality, long life Nichicon/Panasonic.
Ultrasonic Cleaning
Over time, dirt and dust can start to collect inside a video game console. This is very common, with some consoles being more prone to accumulating debris than others. With its open vents on the top and sides, the Nintendo 64 is one of these consoles. Once something finds its way in, it rarely finds it way out. That being said, this console has a new shell, and the motherboard, shielding, and controller ports were all run through an industrial ultrasonic cleaner to remove dirt, dust or residual flux. This means you will be getting an extremely clean console inside and out!
